Background
Alyssa grew up in Minooka, Illinois and graduated from Minooka Community High School in 2012.
Alyssa attended DePaul University where she studied history, government, and pre-law. During her undergraduate studies, Alyssa worked for a personal injury and criminal defense law firm in Chicago. Alyssa gained first-hand experience in cases involving motor vehicle collisions and medical malpractice. This experience allowed Alyssa to gain vast knowledge in the various phases of civil litigation prior to entering law school.
Upon graduation, Alyssa enrolled in DePaul University’s College of Law. As a law student, Alyssa received academic honors, served as an editor on DePaul’s Journal of Art, Technology, and Intellectual Property, represented clients in DePaul’s Civil Rights Legal Clinic, and served as Vice President/Event Coordinator for a student organization.
During law school, Alyssa worked as a law clerk for a New York law firm where she assisted with commercial bitcoin litigation and pro-bono non-profit cases involving Holocaust Restitution litigation. During her third year of law school, Alyssa worked for the Field Museum’s General Counsel’s office in Chicago where she drafted museum contracts and became very familiar with important Illinois regulations. These experiences allowed Alyssa to round out her legal education in both a litigation and transactional setting.
In May of 2019, Alyssa received her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University’s College of Law and joined John J. Malm & Associates, P.C. as an associate attorney. Alyssa represents individuals and families who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Alyssa is passionate about representing clients who have been victims of nursing home abuse and/or neglect and medical malpractice.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys volunteering for Team Make a Difference, a local home remodeling non-profit organization for families affected by cancer and other ailments. She also enjoys history, art, Italian wine, and cooking.
