Statement for Release in Response to Media Inquiry: Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed by Family of West Chicago Man
The law office of John J. Malm & Associates has been retained to represent the family of Antonio Alvarez, who was killed when the vehicle he was operating was struck in a heavy-impact intersection collision in West Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 2014. Shortly after impact, Mr. Alvarez’s vehicle burst into flames. The lawsuit, which was filed against Defendant, Omar Montoya Medina, alleges that Mr. Medina was negligent and was operating his vehicle under the influence at the time of the accident. Medina has been charged with two counts of aggravated DUI, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Antonio Alvarez is survived by a wife and two children. The lawsuit brought on behalf of his family seeks damages for the family’s grief and sorrow, and for the loss of society and support suffered by his family as a result of his death.
The lawsuit is filed pursuant to the Illinois Wrongful Death Act, 740 ILCS 180/1, et seq.
