The lawsuit, which was filed against Mr. Quartuccio on July 17, 2019 in the Circuit Court of Kane County, seeks damages for the severe injuries Lexi suffered while riding her bicycle on Illinois Avenue in St. Charles Township on Mother’s Day. According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Quartuccio was seen travelling so fast as he fled from the scene that he nearly lost control of his vehicle upon turning onto a side street. As a result of his actions, Mr. Quartuccio has been criminally charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving while his license was revoked, driving while his license was revoked causing injury, and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Lexi sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital, where she was hospitalized. The lawsuit brought on behalf of Lexi seeks damages for Lexi’s injuries and medical bills.
